Our Focus

CWN’s 2016 Strategic Plan continues to guide the organization today. The mission as stated is to strengthen community in a blended society among Caribbean women, their families, and their friends, through networking, learning, and information exchange. Caribbean women are warm, generous people. This is a strength. We are building on this strength in the areas of collaboration; diversity; connecting and honoring women; through its newcomer initiatives; engaging with men; and by maintaining its “home” with a kitchen. CWN’s generous nature is reflected in the way we carry out our programs: no participation fees and just a minimal $5 annual fee for belonging to its membership. These days, we come together not only among ourselves but with women from so-called “mainstream” culture, with women of diverse ethnicities, as well as with men who support the aims of the organization. Our broad focus areas are Community Building, Culture, Identity, Interculturalism, and Honoring and Celebrating women, all to bring our vision stated in our strategic plan of 2016 to life.
